LEADWORT

      Leadwort is a genus, Plumbago, of mostly tropical perennial herbs, sometimes shrubby or climbing, in the plumbago family, Plumbaginaceae. They produce spikelike clusters of slender-tubed flowers that are blue, reddish, or white. The cape leadwort, Plumbago auriculata, from South Africa, is a sparsely leaved evergreen shrub with short spikes of usually blue flowers. The Southeast Asian P. indica is a partially climbing evergreen shrub with branching stems and elongated clusters of red flowers.
