      Gloxinia, Shinningia speciosa, is a flowering plant belonging to the gesneriad family, Gesneriaceae. It is Brazilian in origin and produces richly colored, showy, bell-shaped flowers that are violet, purple, white, or reddish, often marbled or spotted with darker shades.
