GLADIOLUS
Gladiolus is any of nearly 300 species of flowering plants that belong to the iris family, Iridaceae. They produce swordlike leaves and spikes of funnel-shaped flowers. Most species are native to South Africa, but many new varieties and hybrids have been developed. Few other flowers thrive over such a wide geographic area. Gladiolus species are propagated primarily from corms.
