CROTALARIA

CROTALARIA

Crotalaria is a genus of shrubs and herbs of the pea family, Leguminosae. Over 500 species inhabit the warm regions of the world. Some species are cultivated as ornamentals; others are grown for forage or as ground cover. C. juncea produces sunn hemp, which is an important fiber of Asia. C. spectabilis, from southeast Asia, is grown as an ornamental; it produces large, showy clusters of purplish-streaked yellow flowers.
