CHENILLE PLANT
Chenille plant is the common name of a shrub, Acalypha hispida, of the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae. It is deciduous and grows up to 4.6 m (15 ft) tall. Flowers are dense; hanging female spikes, up to 45 cm (18 in) long, are red or purple. The chenille plant is grown in southern gardens or in green-houses in the north. Its long red spikes resemble those of the amaranth.
