Euonymus atropurpureus, also called wahoo, is a large deciduous shrub or tree of North America that grows up to 7.6 m (25 ft) tall. Leaves turn yellow in the fall, and the fruit is scarlet. Combretum microphyllum is a large, rambling shrub with small, notched leaves and scarlet flowers. It grows in the tropics and is known in Mozambique as the flame creeper. Dictamnus albus, also called fraxinella or gas plant, is a Eurasian shrub with strong-smelling foliage that emits flammable oil. The flowers are reddish purple. Kochia scoparia is a fast-growing shrub, native to Eurasia, with small but dense foliage that turns bronze red after frost.
