BITTERROOT
Bitterroot, Lewisia rediviva, is a herbaceous perennial plant in the family Portulacaceae with a fleshy edible root, a rosette of leaves, and short-stalked white or rose flowers. The bitterroot grows in the gravelly foothills of the Rockies and other western mountains of the United States. It is the state flower of Montana.
