BACHELOR'S BUTTON

BACHELOR'S BUTTON

Bachelor's button is another common name for the cornflower, Centaurea cyanus. The name "yellow bachelor's button" is sometimes applied to a MILKWORT, Polygala lutea, also known as candyweed; a biennial of the eastern United States, it grows to about 30 cm (12 in) high. The leaves form a rosette, and the orange yellow flowers develop in racemes.
